      For those art lovers as well as history buffs, this comprehensive tour includes both the Thyssen museum and and a walking tour in the historic city center. This tour offers a great opportunity to enjoy the luxury of a private guide  who has studied extensively the history, art and architecture and can give you tremendous insight. This provides a great introduction to the city and will help give more of an appreciation of the wonderful things there are to do and see. 

      Considered one of the most important private collections next to the Prado, The Thyssen Bornemisza museum has a lot to offer whether you are the sophisticated art lover or someone who would like better exposure to some of the greatest masters in art history.  Once the second largest private collection in the world after the Bristish Royal Collection.  It was started in the 1920´s as a private collection by Heinrich Baron Thyssen Bornemisza and continued on with his heirs.  It´s highlights focus on early European painting of Trecento and quattrocento, early Flemish and Dutch as well as Rennaissance, Baroque and Rococo paintings.

      Another interesting aspect that many people are unaware about the Thyssen is the wonderful display of 18th and 19th Century North American Paintings including those of John Sargent.

      Following the Thyssen, you will begin your walk that will be more concentrated on the historic neighbourhoods of Madrid, including the Austrias, Plaza de la Villa (oldest Plaza in Madrid), old markets (filled with a wonderful array of Spanish culinary specialties), Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Your guide will not only be giving historic explanation, but he/she will point out other monuments worth going back for a visit as well as restaurants and cafes that may be of interest for a menu of the day.

      Letango´s all inclusive trips that are pre-designed with a preset itinerary. They generally include accommodation, guided tours, transportation within Spain, entrance fees to monuments visited in the guided tours provided, a show, etc. They also come with our personal advice and recommendations. We are happy to have a consultation. We personally call all hotels before you check in to ensure they give you a nice room and are ready for you.

      Day tours typically last between 3 and 9 hours depending on how much time you choose. They include a guide, sometimes entrances and are pre-designed with a set itinerary.  These are walking tours but we can arrange bikes or segway.

      Usually include the service of a private driver-guide or driver and guide. They include meals, wine tastings and sometimes entrance fees depending on the tour. All are pre-designed with a preset itinerary.

      To book any of our tours, pick the size of your private group, the number of people traveling and add to cart. If you prefer not to make a full payment right away, you can opt to pay later.


      In this case, we will send you an invoice for 50% deposit and then as we get closer to your service date, you will pay the balance in full. This is very typical when the tour or trip is not going to happen for a while.

      If for any reason we can not fulfil the tour for the date you have chosen we will refund you immediately and let you know. A tour is not fully confirmed until we reply with a full confirmation.
