Join us on on our adventurous Almeria to Granada Cruise Excursion from the Port of Almeria to see historic Granada.  This will provide an excellent introduction to this marvelous city. You will begin with your driver picking you up at the port followed by a two hour drive to Granada.  You will first do a panoramic tour in the car to get a sense of the city and its surroundings.  Following the panoramic, your driver will take you to specific sites where you have the opportunity to get out and walk and visit inside, like the Royal Chapel if you choose.  Your  english speaking driver will be give you some commentary in english.

 The driver will be sure to cover the more important points of interest and if you would like to try some of the local fare, we can help direct you to a cool tapa bar or specialty shop.  

   You will also have the opportunity to walk through the Casco Antiguo or old part of the city, stop at some of the main highlights like the Silk Market, memorable Squares such as Plaza Bib Rambla and Plaza Nueva.  We also recommend you have a stroll through the Moroccan Tea houses and exploring the Albaycin moorish quarter. For an additional cost, it is an option if you would like to visit the Alhambra or have a local guide take you into monuments but we need to know in advance.  We can definitely organize this but need to make reservations ahead of time. If you arrange your own tickets, that is not a problem. We are happy to accommodate you.

If you add the guide and  (extra of 285USD for guide plus €20pp) with us we will organize the day for you and we can also arrange your ticket entrances to the Alhambra which you pay apart depending on how many pax in your group. 

*Important note on Alhambra tickets. It is becoming increasing difficult to get Alhambra tickets last minute and especially during high season in the months of April, May, June and September.  Signing up for the Alhambra tour does not guarantee an entrance.  The moment you pay a deposit, we will begin searching for those tickets and it may even take some days before we confirm.  We need to put in a request and will not hear back right away.  We will inform you if we see we are unable to get tickets.  You can go online and try to get tickets on Ticketmaster.  On a rare occasion, there are tickets available in Doble Oro.

It is not a wonder why writers have been coming to Granada for centuries to be inspired by the natural beauty and romantic surroundings.  Built in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains and famous for grand examples of architecture dating from the Moorish occupation.

Without question, the most beautiful monument of all, built in the beautiful hills of Granada, the Alhambra was originally designed as a fortress complex but was later converted into a Palace.  It is easy to see why the Emirs made it their Royal home as its beauty cannot be matched. In fact, this would be the last Palace ruled by the Muslim Dynasty of Nasrid before its Reconquest by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492.  You can also see why the former rulers did not go willingly.  It´s majestic and unique design have earned a declaration from Unesco as a World Heritage Site.  Many songs, stories and poems have been inspired by this beautiful structure. Alhambra´s many rulers paint a colourful history to this architectural wonder they called their beloved Alcazar or Castle.
The hill facing the Alhambra is the Old Moorish Casbah or ¨Medina¨ called the Albaicin. A fascinating labyrinth of narrow streets and white washed houses with secluded inner gardens known as Carmens, which have now been converted into nice restaurants to enjoy views of the Alhambra by night.  The Plaza de San Nicolas is the highest point of the Albaicin and should not be missed for lovely photos of the Alhambra.  

Another interest is the Sacramonte hill on the north side which famous for its cave dwellings, once the home to Granada´s Gypsy community.
