The Sephardic Segovia and Ávila excursion from Madrid takes you to two important centers of Jewish culture, where you'll get a feel for what these towns were like when Jews, Christians and Muslims peacefully coexisted. You'll visit a Sephardic museum, see the former synagogues and walk the streets of the juderías (Jewish quarters).

Segovia's aqueduct is a testament to its importance during roman times, and it's clear from the abundance of Romanesque Architecture that the city flourished during the 10th and 11th Centuries. The southern part of town was home to the judería, as seen through its street names, converted synagogue, and the Jewish Quarter Education Center. The nearby walled city of Ávila also had an important Jewish community from the 11th to the 15th centuries, and has many monuments that serve as windows to this period.
