For anyone who would like a more elaborate illustration of Basque history, its ancient culture and centuries-old fishing and agriculture trades, this excursion will provide just the insight. One of our stops will include the famous Gernika, ancient meeting place of the Lords of Bizkaia, symbol of Basque separatism and site of the pre-Civil War bombings that inspired the famous Picasso painting. Mundaka and Bermeo, once important fishing villages, maintain their charm and authenticity, providing you with a look into the important maritime past of the País Vasco.

On this Excursion to Guernica from Bilbao we'll take a look at the beautiful Basque countryside by visiting some port towns along the Ría de Urbaibai as well as Guernica, the famous Basque capital that was tragically bombed during the Spanish Civil war.
